The understanding of medical language in the communication between cardiologists/patients and cardiologists/editors
Keywords:
communication, language, cardiology, patientAbstract
Every doctor should know how language works. The selection and combination of the elements that integrate it must be directed to adjust a message that does not disorient the listener. The use of the precise word possesses an incalculable value for the human being, if one keeps in mind the ethical dimension of the tasks that are reiterated in each one of the oral and written acts. This article is aimed at prompting a reflection on the command of communication between cardiologists and patients and between cardiologists and editors, in a way that these two recipients of the message transmitted by these specialists do not think that their interlocutors are hiding something in their message or that they pursue an objective that they are not able to interpret, either orally or in writing. Furthermore, if the act of communication is implemented through words and expressions taken from English, the communication process among them can be affected even more.
