Abstract

Takayasu arteritis has a multifactorial etiopathogenesis, involving both genetic and infectious factors. Multiple interpretations are frequently made before a true diagnosis is reached because it presents with general and nonspecific symptoms that can lead to confusion. It can affect the coronary arteries. Coronary computed tomography angiography is the technique of choice for diagnosis. It is often an incidental finding in patients who report symptoms such as chest pain and exertional dyspnea. We present the case of a 46-year-old Caucasian woman in whom coronary CT angiography revealed aneurysms in the left main coronary artery, the left anterior descending artery, and the circumflex artery in their proximal segments, along with multiple arteriovenous fistulas along their courses, which was interpreted as Takayasu arteritis.
