Constrictive pericarditis: A case report

Abstract

Constrictive pericarditis is a diagnostic challenge. It clinically shows predominant signs of right heart failure. We present the case of a 60-year-old man with a 2-year-evolution dyspnea, functional class II, which has progressed to IV, and history of high blood pressure and chronic atrial fibrillation. Echocardiographic and magnetic resonance images that were useful to establish the diagnosis are shown. The patient was discharged after responding favorably to treatment.
