Electrocardiogram in an obese patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Abstract
In the present century, obesity has been considered by the scientific community as a real health problem worldwide. The electrocardiogram represents a useful diagnostic tool for the evaluation and prognosis of obese patients. We present the case of a 65-year-old obese woman, an inveterate smoker, with a history of high blood pressure since adolescence, without regular treatment, who was admitted to the intensive care unit for severe community-acquired pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
